What To Consider When You Have Several Job Offers to Choose From

Are you one of the lucky ones who happen to get about two or three job offers at the same time and at the moment you are under pressure deciding on which of the jobs to pick. For those who are in such
situation, its means that the labour market is in need of the knowledge and skills you possess. In fact, you are the envy of those still seeking for job.

Deciding on which job offer to take requires evaluation of yourself (career goals, needs) and the companies involved.

Evaluating yourself

As an individual you have dreams to achieve and principles that are guiding you. In times like this, you have to evaluate your career goals viz-a-viz the job offers and see which of the job offers aligns with the realisation of your career goals. Most times, one is tempted to pick the job that offers better financial reward. But fulfillment in life is not all about making money. There are many people who receive excellent pay packages yet feel most miserable and unfulfilled in their careers.

Questions that you have to answer:
• Which of these jobs' responsibilities will I enjoy doing?
• Which of these jobs will provide the best opportunities for career growth?
• Will there be opportunities for training?
•What other benefits exist in the offer?

 Evaluating the Companies

This goes beyond reading the "About Us" section on the companies' website. Most job seekers do this when preparing for interviews. You must dig deeper to understand the companies’ objectives, goals and strategies and how it aligns with your career goals.

Questions that you have to ask:

• How do the employers treat their employee?
• Which of the companies have the reputation of disengaging staff often?
• The structure of the company: chances for career growth

Other points to consider

* Location: proximity of the company to your home. Which of the job offers require that you relocate? If you are married with kids, you have to consider the effect of relocating on your family.

* Pension scheme and other benefits.

So, before you make that decision, ask yourself '' If money is not a problem, which of the companies will I like to work with?''
