Job Title: Base Logistics Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Type of Employment:  Full Time 

Job Summary
The Base Logistician will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Logistics Manager.

The major duties and responsibilities includes;

Management of equipment means of communication and the vehicle fleet.

Compile and consolidate records for vehicles & generators consumptions.

Supervise the allocation and use of equipment related to facilities; radio communication, check on regular basis the needs of products and equipment for all Action Against Hunger facilities.

Monitor the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment in all Action Against Hunger vehicles.
Track assets, update base equipment list of the facilities with new equipment on a monthly basis and conduct physical check of equipment list each month.

Manage the Base Logistics Team and follow HR related issues.

Manage all rehabilitation and maintenance for Office, Guest House, and premises.

Develop a monthly planning of purchase for the materials required for the facility management, Draft PRs and ensure quality control of deliveries from suppliers.

Oversee the preparation and execution of driver schedules, holiday plans.

Analyze monthly reports for inventory, running costs of vehicles and generators, the narrative report of activities, facility equipment list.

Undertake other related tasks as assigned.


The Successful Candidate will;

Have at least a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management and other related field with a similar experience in logistics or procurement.

Have strong ability to develop positive relationships with suppliers.

Possess excellent computer skills including all Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Have previous experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context.

Possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), high level of flexibility and self-motivation.
