Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for the development,
implementation and procedures to ensure integrity of accounting information and
safe custody of assets, including procedures to eliminate and detect fraud or
theft of company assets.
He/she will be responsible for the annual, preparation of
detailed financial budgets and cash flows, working closely with budget holders.
Provide monthly managements accounts including narrative
report on budget variances.
Provide regular cash flow information (daily and monthly) to
assist Company plan payments.
Ensure any surplus funds are invested to best return.
Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure
and position control documents, departmental budgets, mass salary updates,
ledger and account maintenance and data entry.
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control
safeguards.
Establish and implement short and long-range departmental
goals, objectives policies and operating procedures.
Attendance at Finance Committee meetings and responsibility
for minutes.
Accounting records
and Procedures
Supervision of postings of sales ledger, purchase ledger and
nominal ledger and maintenance thereof.
Establishing and maintenance of asset register.
Reconciliation of all product and suppliers accounts with monthly
summaries.
Maintain sock pricing for products in collaboration with
other members of senior management.
Ensure company operates expenditure authorization procedures
(including expenses reimbursement)
Supervision of monthly bank reconciliations and checking all
control accounts square including sales ledger, purchases ledger, VAT account,
PAYE/NI.
Manage debt collection and credit control.
Supervision of payroll and payroll annual returns.
Completion of quarterly VAT returns including review of
partial exemption calculations.
Preparation of annual accounts file for auditors and
drafting statutory accounts.
Assist Chief Executive &Executive Director with
effective communication/reporting of financial performance making best use of
information technology.
Administration
Monthly visits to boutiques and outlets to ensure that their
sales figures, bank lodgements and transactions are reconciled in accordance
with company policies.
Review and manage car lease scheme and appraising new
contracts.
Develop and implement as required a cross training programme
for all accounting personnel to ensure that there is adequate cover for each
accounts position

- Must be able to multi task and work closely with individuals from a broad variety of backgrounds
- Must have a good understanding of the sector, including business strategy and operations, processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of the measures of profitability and return on investment, for modelling purposes.
- Candidates will be extremely smart, with particularly strong quantitative, writing and interpersonal skills
- Candidates will be very comfortable working in Excel, Word, and Power Point and other accounting software
- Strong academic record (or equivalent), with a demonstrably high degree of numerical, verbal and analytical competence
- He/she will be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm & interest for working in the sector
- Personable team player, with the ability to gain the confidence and trust of both colleagues and management.
Educational Requirements and Experience
Minimum of 5 years and above in a similar position.
