Job Title: Chief Technology Officer
Location: Lagos
Position Summary
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for
overseeing all technical aspects of the company. The CTO works with The
Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological
resources. Using an active and practical approach, the CTO will direct all
employees in IT and IO departments to attain the company’s strategic goals
established in the company’s strategic plan.
Responsibilities and Duties
As the first CTO of Track Your Build Africa it is your
responsibility to create the foundational technology systems of the company and
establish the patents for the technology created thereof.
The CTO is expected to develop and/or project manage the
development of the following systems ;
- -Construction project management cloud
- Artificial Intelligence for construction project management cloud.
- Block-chain for construction project management cloud
- -Geospatial cloud
- Applications in geospatial cloud for various sectors
- Artificial Intelligence for geospatial cloud
- Block-chain for geospatial cloud
- -Development of Drones for mapping and inspection
- -Remote sensors for various relevant applications
- Tablets for ground-truth activities
- -AR/VR for various operations applications
In addition to the above-listed responsibilities, the CTO
will;
- Establish the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development.
- Direct the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth around technology products to be developed and used in by company operational units.
- Work in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as marketing, production, and operations as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership to operations heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission, and values.
- Conducts research and case studies on cutting-edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
- Acts as a good steward of Track Your Build Investments (Nigeria) Limited Companies resources and ensures control of IT budgets.
Education and Experience
- BSc in a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the Information Technology arena - full-stack development and GIS
- At least 2 years management and strategic experience in this field or MBA/MS in related field with 1-year experience.
- 2+ years experience with geospatial programming technologies including Python and Python-based libraries such as Pandas, GeoPandas and GDAL
- 2+ years experience analyzing, designing, developing and implementing JavaScript based full stack solutions (Node.JS, Bootstrap, JQuery)
- 2+ years of experience working with geospatial data (SHP, KML, GeoJSON) as well as OGC standards (WMS, WFS)
- 2+ years of experience working with web mapping API (Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers, Esri) and OpenGeo (GeoServer, PostGIS, QGIS)
Skills
- Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of technical staff.
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to Write ‘clean’, well-commented codes
- Ability to develop applications in geospatial clouds.
- Adequate knowledge of basic server administration
- Experience working closely with product owners, stakeholders, and project managers
- Strong innovative and analytical ability with implementation experience as a results-oriented,
- collaborative self-starter who can contribute to a development team
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
