Research Assistants At SERAP

SERAP is a duly registered leading anti-corruption and good governance NGO in Nigeria. Part of our mandate is to regularly collect evidence on citizen’s experience with corruption in the public sector.


SERAP is in the process of commissioning a national wide survey on corruption. We are seeking to recruit field research assistants to support this exercise. The research assistants will be hired specifically for this short-term assignment.

Job Title: Research Assistants

Location: Select States

Type of Job: Short Term

 Duties and Responsibilities

– Participate in a one-day data collection/ research methodology workshop

– Conduct oral interviews using the provided research tools

– Accurately recording the responses as per instruction issues

– Under the guidance and supervision of the relevant SERAP staff, conduct basic quality control on the research materials

– Any other duties as may be allocated by the relevant SERAP staff regarding this assignment.

Minimum requirements:

Be a current university student or a fresh graduate from a recognized local university studying Arts / Social Sciences / Humanities or any other relevant course.

-Not currently engaged in any other part or full-time employment

-Fully available for a period of about ten days starting mid-November 2018

-Generally conversant with the geography and local language(s) of the chosen state

– The data collection will be conducted in many of the states in Nigeria. In your application, please identify the state you would wish to be posted/assigned. Please note preference will be granted to residents of the select states.

– -Preferences will be given to those who are willing to travel.
