Event Manager and Trainer For Nigeria At WEConnect International

WEConnect International is a global network that connects women-owned businesses to qualified buyers around the world. WEConnect International identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises based outside of the U.S. that are at least 51% owned, as well as managed and controlled by one or more women, and then connects them with multinational corporate buyers.

Job Title: Event Manager and Trainer For Nigeria


Job Overview: The Event Manager and Trainer for Nigeria is required to support local event planning and execution, program management in support of building women-owned business capabilities and growing relationships with local partners to advance the mission of the organization.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Global Responsibilities
Work closely with the Regional Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa and with the local Market Lead on engaging women-owned businesses that fit the needs of local corporate buyers, establishing business association connections, and positioning WEConnect International’s brand in Nigeria

Support the design and implementation of a marketing plan for Nigeria
Work closely with the Regional Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa in drafting the budget and fundraising strategy necessary to implement all events and activities to enhance WEConnect International’s brand presence and achieve its mission and goals in the region

Event Management

  • Responsible for the development and management of events for WEConnect International in Nigeria and to ensure proper governance and accountability
  • Act as lead in designing a calendar of events in Nigeria and determining the formats following a strategy for the market
  • Act as lead in researching and mapping external events or activities in Nigeria in which WEConnect International should have a presence
  • Develop and build the necessary marketing and promotional materials to promote events and WEConnect International certification with the support of the team in DC


Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Management

  • With the support of the WEConnect International Regional Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa and the Market Lead for Nigeria to design and implement an outreach strategy to identify new women-owned businesses and manage relations with existing ones
  • Oversee the certification renewal processes in collaboration with the Director of Certification
  • Provide customer service for any questions or queries that come from women-owned businesses in Nigeria
  • Channel all relevant communications between the team in DC and the women-owned businesses based in Nigeria
  • Promote the external benefits available to women-owned businesses that are a part of WEConnect International’s network


Support WBE Capacity Building Programs

  • Develop needs assessment for capacity building of WBEs
  • With the support of the Market Lead, liaison with Training Sponsor, to coordinate and deliver training programs
  • Support content development, as applicable
  • Coordinate logistics for training programs
  • Organize graduation event
  • Conduct training surveys
