Our client, a multinational corporation with global operations requires the services of
a Spare Parts Manager for its Lagos Office.
Job Title- Spare Parts Manager
Location-Lagos
General Duties/Key Responsibilities
Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and
Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the
team at all times
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
Supervise and monitor locally purchased goods and services ensuring that price
and quality are in accordance with company policy and standards.
Ensure inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted and reconciled with automated system utilizing help of the warehouse team
Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods-in and
goods-out including labelling of all stock items
Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future
Capacity requirements
Assist the General Manager in strategic planning of future capacity requirements
§Recommend improvements in facilities, equipment and procedures within the
parts department
Handle customers’ queries and complaints (on Parts) in a timely and efficient manner.
Create and implement best practice warehousing principles, policies and processes
Ensure materials/stocks are properly captured in the inventory system and
provide update on stock records
Ensure up-to-date stock count and prompt reconciliation, conduct spot checks of
stocks and other warehoused materials
Analyse redundant and obsolete stock and calculate stock provisions in line with
company policy.
Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
Team Management
Coach, manage and develop staff to optimise performance and meet targets and deadline
Ensure that departmental staff are assessed and reviewed periodically
Ensure that all staff within the department adheres to company policies and procedures at all times.
Training & Experience:
A Bachelor of Science or Social Sciences degree or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant work experience in the automotive industry
Knowledge of inventory control practices
Demonstrable experience of running a warehouse, preferably in the automotive industry
A full understanding of the requirements of running a warehouse, such as health
and safety and security requirements to include certification of dangerous goods
handling and aviation security
A warehouse or distribution qualification would be an advantage
