Job Description
The Head of Sales will be instrumental in helping them scale their rapidly expanding business and driving their first-ever remittance product across West Africa. This is a chance to be part of a dynamic business doing amazing things on a Pan-African scale with an innovative ‘start-up’ mentality. The ideal candidate will come prepared to ‘wear many hats,’and lead from the front in a ‘hands-on’ manner.Sending money to friends and family all over the world has never been this safe and secure and with the ultimate goal of helping the user save more.
Main Responsibilities
- Working with the VP to scale and build the sales team
- Pushing this brand new remittance product to retail outlets and other operators
- Identify potential sales opportunities and new markets
- Take the lead with providing overall vision, strategy, direction and goals for the sales function
- Maintain a structured business intelligence database to support the identification and evaluation of potential
- opportunities
- Develop quotes, proposals and contracts, and negotiate with clients to secure and close deals
- Collect client requirements and align them with the product, operations and engineering teams to provide
- competitive products
- Lead strategic planning, design, and execution of business development and project implementations
- Develop deployment timelines, phasing plans and project plans
- Attend conferences, meetings and industry events
Requirements
- Mandatory Requirements / Qualifications:
- University degree preferred or relevant qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the senior sales / business development focused roles
- 5+ years of sales and team management experience - managing a sales team and a sales pipeline whilst
- ensuring that the sales close on time and with the desired commercials and products
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Socially adept to developing meaningful and long-lasting relationships
- A proven ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
- A solid background in the mobile payments / fintech / remittance space (ESSENTIAL)
