Job Location: Lagos Nigeria

Job description

We are searching for an Environmental & Social Consultant to lead our team of environmental

and social safeguard scientists /consultants.

High Level Job Description

• Managing all levels of site investigation, environmental impact assessments, environmental

site assessments, remediation, due diligence, risk assessment, including field work

appropriate to the level of experience

• Project planning and management of specialist studies, assessments and models

• Advising and liaising with client and regulators on broad range of ESG technical

requirements and compliance

• Coordinate technical and QAQC reviews of specialist reports from team of scientist.

• Contributing to development of internal protocols and procedures

• Provide advisory using referenced international ESG frameworks and benchmarks including

IFC performance standards and other relevant frameworks.

• Ensures studies and assessments are conducted in accordance with regulatory standards

operating protocols and accepted quality control guidelines;

Required Qualifications

• MSc degree in Environmental Science or any related life sciences

• 5-7 years’ relevant field experience

• ISO lead auditor certification (Lead Environmental Management Systems / OR ISO 45001

Occupational Health and Safety)

• Knowledge of Federal Ministry of Environment’s regulation/ requirement, NESREA

guidelines, DPR EGASPIN and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

• Knowledge and experience with world bank and IFC projects and categorization.

• Understanding of the upstream and downstream regulatory requirement for oil & energy

industry.

• Good physical health and willingness to travel and work in field for extended periods

• Valid international/national identity card

• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and

presentation/public engagement skills.

• Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional and quality deliverable on time

and on budget

• Geographic information systems is an advantage.

• Proficient with the Microsoft office and database entry

• Risk Assessments and Auditing.
