We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Administrator to manage and maintain our Ubuntu-based server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our servers while implementing best practices for system administration, automation, and monitoring. This role requires strong expertise in Linux server management, networking, and troubleshooting, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Ubuntu servers in a production environment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, including CPU, memory, storage, and network resources.
- Implement and manage server security, including firewalls, access control, and vulnerability patching.
- Automate routine tasks and server deployments using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Ensure system backups and disaster recovery solutions are in place and tested regularly.
- Manage network services such as DNS, VPN, and SSH for secure access and connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including network connectivity and performance problems.
- Maintain and monitor server health using appropriate monitoring tools, responding to alerts and taking proactive measures.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies for future reference and team use.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- 1-2 years proven experience as a Linux/Ubuntu System Administrator in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation.
- Experience with managing network services, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Solid understanding of virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with system monitoring and performance management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and documenting procedures.
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and infrastructure management.
- Certifications in Linux system administration or related fields.
