We are looking for a highly motivated Research Analyst Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support product development, content creation, and business strategy by conducting in-depth research on key trends in African innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies. Your insights will be pivotal in shaping the direction of our projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research: Conduct research on African innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship trends, and emerging technologies relevant to The Beta Collective’s initiatives.
- Industry Analysis: Provide ongoing analysis of trends in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and the African business landscape, producing reports and summaries for internal use.
- Funding and Partnership Research: Assist in building and maintaining a database of funding opportunities (venture capital, grants, accelerators, partnerships) that align with The Beta Collective’s mission.
- Competitor Research: Monitor and analyze competitors in the African innovation and social entrepreneurship space, providing insights on strategies, products, and content approaches.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from community members and external sources to identify gaps, needs, and trends that can inform our product and business development efforts.
- Support for Content Creation: Collaborate with the content strategist to provide research and data for thought leadership articles, case studies, and reports that showcase The Beta Collective’s impact.
- Policy and Regulatory Research: Stay informed on relevant policies and regulatory changes affecting African startups and innovators, including trade agreements, intellectual property, and innovation policy.
Key Qualifications:
- Business, Economics, Social Sciences, International Development
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact, particularly in the African context.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Google Suite
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup environment
